St. AugustineWho this is for
The Spanish founded St. Augustine in 1565, forty-two years before the English reached Jamestown, and the town has never entirely stopped looking like it. The fort is built of coquina, a soft shell stone that absorbed cannonballs instead of shattering. In the 1880s Henry Flagler arrived with a railway and built hotels so extravagant that one is now a college and another a museum. What is for sale here is old, protected, and inspected differently from the rest of Florida.
